Skipton Financial Advisers | Our Stories

Mrs Brine's Story

In view of changing market conditions and the fact that it’s a long-term commitment, we understand you may want to feel supported while placing your money into investments linked to the stock market. This is why we offer a service known as Monitored Informed Investing (MII) through which we monitor the performance of your investments and keep you updated, so we are with you every step of your journey.

Jean Brine, from Lancashire, has been with Skipton since 2009 and highly values our MII service, which she continues to receive.

Jean said: "My Skipton adviser Matthew explained everything to me about MII and I thought it sounded fantastic – so I decided to go along with it."

Through MII, Jean is able to benefit from a range of promises, which help to keep her in the loop with her investments. When asked what she likes about the service, Jean confirmed, “I’m happy with the whole package. There’s nothing I’d turn around and say I’m unhappy with.”

One area of MII which Jean greatly appreciates is the Annual and Quarterly reports we send out – updating Jean on MII funds she’s invested into. Jean added, “I find them particularly useful, and if there’s anything I’m unsure about I can immediately ring Matthew to speak with him about it. I’d never do anything without his say so. I have 100% faith in him.”

Talking about how MII has helped her in general, Jean concluded, “MII definitely gives me peace of mind that my money is in the right place, and it has helped me with my financial goals. I’ve even recommended it to someone I know who is already ongoing with it.”

Like Jean, you too could benefit from MII. However, as an ongoing fee applies, this may not be the right route for you – especially if you’re happy monitoring your own investments.

Alternatively, if you’re willing to pay an ongoing fee in order to benefit from a range of features – including MII Quarterly and Annual reports, and periodic financial reviews of your MII Investments – it could be a suitable option.

Please remember that stock market-based investments are not like bank and building society savings accounts as your capital is at risk and you may get back less than you invested. The value of your investments and any income from them may fall as well as rise.
